Dry Hair - remedy
Is your hair very dry since surgery? Mine is.
I found a solution ... Ultra Sheen. This is a hair dressing; you can find it at WalMart in the ethnic section.
I had it and used in on one of our foster daughters that is African American and had very course dry hair when she came to us. My new baby Joy is also African American, so I was getting it out to put a little of it in her hair. I thought if it conditions hair, why wouldn't it work for me? So I used it, the first day I used a very small dab and rubbed it into my hair with my other styling products. Yesterday, I was not planning to leave the house (I had an extra kid yesterday - 4 of them under 2 - I wasn't going anywhere) so I put a WHOLE big gob of it in after my shower, while my hair was still wet. I kept in in over night and then shampooed my hair twice this am to get the excess out.
My hair was shiny and healthy looking this am, compared to the dry mess it usually looks like.
One word of caution if you plan to try this. If you want to use it as a leave in conditioner and then stlye your hair, use a very small amount. For me a dab about the size of a baby pea. More than that and you will get a wet/greasy look.
God Bless,
Jen
Our hair is dry because we aren't getting in fats like we really need. My Doc said to try fish oil. A good for you fat. It helped me.
I have tried all the conditioners, leave in and other wise. None of them worked. I might try this. But I am thinking that it is almost time to cut my hair short, from the loss and the damage. Who know. I will see how it goes over the weekend.
