Im with you girl. I had been off the board a few months and thought I was a slow looser... but I check in on everyone else and wow Im not as big of a looser as I thought. I am thankfull to be loosing anything and my dr said the same thing about skin issues if you loose to fast. I lost quicker before when I was taking adipex. (rx diet pill) Im not even at the official 50 pound mark yet it sucks. I go to the gym, get in my protien , and drink water like it were water, lol Im funny.... Elsa

I didn't do it just to lose weight.. I had medical issues that were getting worse and weight that I couldn't lose ...every diet I went on I lost 20 and gained 30... Believe me if I could have lost the weight through just diet and exercise I would still be doing that. I tried that for 30 years it didn't work. But I'm not going to feel bad because I was "only" 245lbs when I got the surgery, because now I'm no longer worrying about my diabetes, no longer worrying "if" or "when" I'm going to have a heart attack or stroke because my blood pressure is high. I'm sorry you're upset with us for being lighter in the begining..but in the end we all had the surgery for the same reason... Our Health! 65lbs is nothing to sneeze at...that's an amazing accomplishment in 4 or 5 months. Anna

Ann, I know how you feel exactly! I had surgery the same day as you and guess what? You are beating me. I have lost 53 pounds since surgery. I do NOT however agree with the statement "how well we follow our diet plan" I do not cheat. I have had no sugar and I am loosing very slow. But regardless on how quick everyone is loosing I know it will eventually come off. Every day I am feeling better and I love the compliments! It will eventually come off for all of us. ~~hugs and well wishes~~ Chris

I am a month ahead of you, almost and have only lost 59lbs. so I wish I was in your shoes witht the weightloss. I just keep telling myself, and others do too, that the weight will come off.

Ann, I totally understand where you are coming from. We *all* think like this sometimes, I think. I have lost 80 some pounds (but remember, my surgery was about three weeks before yours) and have felt angry or jealous too when I've seen other people have lost more - especially those with my same starting weight (approximately) and height (I'm 5'10"). I try to focus on how much better I feel and look now, though, and find that as time goes on I'm less and less concerned with how others are doing. I realized I'm not in a race, but that this is about me and my health and head issues. I will say that I think it's a bit unfair to judge anyone else on whether or not they deserved this surgery. Who would I be to say that just because someone weighed a hundred pounds less than me to begin with that they don't have the same or worse health issues that I do/did? Plus, a person who is 5'2" and 240 is just as obese as I was at 5'10" 315. The weight will come off...just because we are nearing the end of the "honeymoon" period doesn't mean that we will stop losing weight. As someone else suggested, start reading profiles of post-ops of 1 year out or more and you'll see we ALL go through this! Hugs, Beth

I seriously don't subscribe to the whole honeymoon phase stuff anyway. From posting on the Cali board I have personally met and spoken with people a year out to three years out who all have reached their *personal* goals, not just their doctor's goals. That's why I try not to get too uptight about it. It is a total bummer that you are so unhappy that you've had this surgery - gotta say though, you *look* fantastic! Hope it gets better for ya, Beth

Hmmm...that is not good to know that you were kind of pressured into having the surgery. It is such a big personal decision...doctor's always think their way is best, I guess. But it might not be best for everyone. Regaining weight freaks me the &$%^ out for sure! I am terrified of it. I know for me personally this surgery was the best thing, and I truly, truly hope that at some point you are happy with this decision as well! Hugs back, Beth
