I have been asked out on a date....WHAT YOU TALKIN ABOUT??? Yes, I have, by a guy on the match.com website. He is older than me, but well established and lives only 7 miles from me. HELPPPPPP I was married straight out of high school for 20 years. I know nothing about romance (that's why I divorced him) LOL. And I said "a few extra pounds and curvy" on my profile....umm yep, I lied....NOW WHAT????? He wants me to call him this weekend and make a date for breakfast, lunch or supper.....I AM SCARED......

Go some place public and take it very slow.. If he says anything about the extra pounds and curvy... You'll have to take it from there.

OK...first, breathe! haha This is exciting, isn't it? I know it's hard for us big girls to ever think a guy is going to like us with some extra poundage, but believe me, there are plenty of guys out there that do! He has seen your picture, I would guess, and you are cute as a button and that is why he contacted you!! If he happens to be a jerk and says something about it being too many extra pounds (which he better not do cuz I'll kick his butt for ya), then he would be doing you a favor by letting you know he's that big of a jerk. Meet him there and I would do lunch -- it is what I prefered to do when I did some online dating. Much more casual. BTW, when I did online dating I was about 50-60 pounds heavier than I am now (and I'm still 55 pounds away right now from my doctor's goal weight), and I met some really nice guys!! Good luck and have fun! Beth

Thanks for the suggestions and support. I will do the lunch thing...and yes he saw my picture, but only the head shot which I believe is a very good pic, almost better than the real thing....but you guys are right about if he says something about the poundage.....Should I wait until I lose more weight to do this??? SHould I tell him that I had the surgery and will look better, nah that sounds lacking of self-esteem...UGHGHGHGHGHGHHG Wanna see him?????

No you should NOT tell him that you will look better! You want someone who thinks you look good as you are! Anything else is an added bonus. Also, think about this -- most guys are attracted to confident women, so hold your head high and put on your favorite outfit, and repeat this mantra: "I am one sexy woman!" I will be curious to hear how you guys handle when to tell a guy about the surgery. I have a BF but I have wondered how I would handle the situation with a guy who didn't know diddly about diddly. Sure let's see him! My e-mail is [email protected] if you can send a link to his profile! Tee hee. Beth

I am heading to work now, but will try to send in the next two days. (I work tomorrow also 16 hours.). Thanks for the support and "I AM ONE SEXY WOMAN"....ummmm ok Marsha
