Hi all!!!!! I had my first class at Modesto Junior College tonight.... I am so excited about it! It's a five week summer course and the teacher is soooo outgoing and funny, I've never had one that's sooo enthusiastic and shows a passion for her subject- psychology. There is probably about 80 people in my class and its going to be quite interesting lol. We have a quiz tomorrow already!!!!! Yikes! But oh well... its still going to be awesome. I was really nervous about the seating... I know I know. Well I get to my class and I see these itty bitty desk/chairs- smaller than Meced, Kelli! I go up to one and just sit in it, waiting for everything to squeeze around me... but it didn't! I fit in it just fine!!!!! Bum was squarely in the middle of the chair and not hanging over one side! I was even able to write my notes on th desk! I've never been able to do that, I usually have to have my notebook there for more length to the desk top due to the limited desk space left after my overhand squished over- I know, nasty mental image there! LOL I, for once, didn't feel like the biggest one in the room! I felt normal!!!!! I could even cross my legs!!! Before class I saw a set of benches around a table and wanted to see if I could sit there, I avoided tables and benches like the plaque pre-op, my legs wouldn't fit, or there wasn't enough room from the back of the chair to the table, ugh. Well I fit perfectly with room to spare. Whooo hooo! Give me a booth, school desk, or picnic table anytime, I'm ready now!!!!!! I changed my major and decided to go to MJC after going to a local community college for the past four years- yes I've slacked lol. I was originally an Ag major- gonna teach the future farmers of America he he he, but I decided against the politics of California FFA and decided to stick with 4H and follow my true passion- music. So I've started over. I am promising to you all to not slack off and get going with the edumacation And one day, you all will see as Principle Tubist of the New York Philharmonic Probably 10-15 years as I want to teach junior high, win some state titles, get my Masters and Doctorate and then take the job he he he. Plus, I'll need to get a new tuba and huge classical ones cost boookooo bucks! I own one now that I was able to pay for with scholarships and a great deal with the shop owner, but man... a pro horn is pricey! Anyone wanna loan me a couple thousand for a down payment on a silver plaed four valve BBb (double B flat) or C Concert Tuba? This fall, I'm planning to take lots of music courses. Since I'm new to the school, no one knows me, so I have to basically prove that I know what I'm doing... so taking the remidial classes, hoping for a 4.0 in that aspect... at least I better get a 4.0 lol or all those years of playing didn't teach me anything! ha!!!!! Another plus for MJC is that I get private lessons from the instructors!!!! I've never had lessons in my life- all self taught here! Well, I told a fib, at band camp in seventh and eigth grade I had lessons, but it was 2 lessons in one week... not that great. My theory teacher has taught at one of the most acclaimed schools too!!!!!!! I am SOOO excited, I wish the fall semester would hurry up and get here lol. Now I have to get to bed so I can sleep and then work the lamb in the AM, do laundry, do my homework and study for my test tomorrow! I have class MTW, whew, is this summer going to rock or what!? Congrats on an awesome first day! I am also taking summer classes, but my first session is almost over, then session 2 starts after July 4. I am finding that the professors at my school are also much happier people in the summer, weird, but hey they are relaxed and easy going so that helps me out! Good luck to you girl! Karyn

Hey Jaci, who's your psychology teacher? Strongin by chance??? Sounds like her, if so I used to TA for her..shs is awesome. Anywho, if it is and you need some help let me know I know what she focuses on with her testing, if not good luck with the class. I knew you'd like Modesto JC better than Merced...Merced is just so behind the times. I wish I had gone to MJC instead of Merced perhaps I would have had a better time adjusting to Univ. Anywho, I wish you the best of luck Kelli
