More on Hair Loss!

My monthly support group actually talked about this on Sunday. The instructor said that hair loss is common in the 4th through 10th month after bypass surgery. She also mentioned (much to our relief) that she did research and NO ONE has gone bald. Good to know! She recommended two products to help with this. Several people that are 2 and 3 years after bypass said they used the products and they helped. The first product is called Hair, Skin & Nails. It's in a pink box. They are pills that are loaded with Biotin and other vitamins. I got it at Walmart. I haven't taken it yet as I want to ask my surgeon first how much he suggests I take. The second suggestion was a product called Nioxin. She said it could probably be purchased through your hair stylist or possibly at a 'beauty supply store'. Some cancer patients going through chemo use it. Thought I'd pass this along

Thanks DeeBee...I just noticed about a month ago as I was showering many strands of hair coming out and then there was hair all over the floor. I have very thick hair so I am not really worried, more irritated by having to clean up all the time...looks like Chewbacca has been visiting...ha ha. I'll try the shampoo as I am horrible with taking pills. Kelli
