Hello! I'm a Feb. loser who's curious to know how those of you (the ladies of course) who started at 315 have been doing? I just kind of want to know what to expect at 5 months. I also have a couple of other questions: Do you exercise? What do you do for exercise? How long & how many times a week? How much water are you drinking? Any odd changes that have occurred since surgery? What's your best WOW moment so far? Thanks in advance to those that reply. Elisa

Hi Elisa, I started at 316, and I had surgery on 1/23/06. I lost 35 pounds before surgery, but I am now down a total of 112 pounds, I will be 5 months out on the 23. I hate to admit this but i don't exercise much at all, I recently signed up for a walking class at college because i needed a PE credit, and that has helped a little, so i walk about 3-4 miles every Monday when I have class, and I wear a pedometer all day, and according to that just from walking through stores, work, and college, I walk an average of 3 miles every day. I am doing pretty good with water, I get in 64 oz ALMOST every day, some days more some less. No odd changes so far, and my biggest WOW was weighing less than my husband for the first time ever. I can't wait to get to onederland, that will be soon! Good luck to you! Karyn

I had VG on 12/27/05. I was exactly 315 on my surgery day. I am at 230 today. (surgery loss of 85 pounds). I walked about 3x a week, briskley, for months 2-4. Since then, I have stopped! I drink 60oz of water a day Odd changes: hair loss! hate it. I thought I was in the clear, and then BAM it started a few weeks ago. Best wow: when shopping and being able to buy smaller sizes.

Oh I am hating the hair loss too! I even cut my hair shorter but still coming off like crazy. I really hope I don't end up bald. I saw your pictures in yoru profile & you look great! Congratulations on your success. Keep up the great work. Elisa

I started at 315.5 pounds, and I have lost a total of 82.5 pounds. Month 4 to 5 was a hard one for me, and I only lost 6.5 pounds during it, but I also had a vacation in there, a UTI and water retention and some work issues which caused my exercise commitment to go down (I have just recommitted myself to that). I go the YMCA at least three times a week, and the other days I try to at least walk, either briskly by myself or sometimes more casually with a friend of mine while we catch up. Water is the HARDEST thing for me. I am really horrible, and on a good day I get in 40 oz or so. It is something I am working on. No real odd changes except the hair loss (I had a freak out moment about it over the weekend actually), and the difference in my self-esteem. Sometimes I find myself strutting a bit, cuz I think I look so good. My favorite WOW moment was this weekend and shopping in different stores than Lane Bryant! I wear 16 pants (though I think I could do a 14 next time I'm pant shopping) and 1x tops. Good luck!! Beth

Not to rain on the parade, but I started at 329 before my Gastric Bypass on 1-30-06 and have to date lost 67 pounds. Of course I am nearly into Feb as my starting date, but what I have learned from this board is that EVERYONE is different...I have lost more than some and less than some, so don't get discouraged or for that matter too confident. Just do what you are suppose to do, and you'll be happy... Marsha

Hey there Beth!! Girl you look fabulous ! I love the way you have been documenting your progess with pictures every month. It is so helpful to see that. I have also been taking pictures every month but I don't feel brave enough to share them yet. I am also really bad with the water intake. I have set a goal of 64oz this month and so far I haven't reached my goal yet. I drink up to 48oz and that's as much as I can right now. You keep strutting you do look good!! WTG . Elisa

I started at 318 and I had Lap RNY on Jan. 17th. I have lost 95 lbs. I excercise 1 & 1/2 hours a day. Sometimes I do classes (Cardio/Sculpt, Pilates, Aerobics) and somedays I just do treadmill 30 min. Ellipical 30, and bike 20, then I do strength training machines. I have been really losing my hair in the last 2 weeks! I hadn't been very good with the protein, but I have now found one I LOVE and I should do much better now.

Tamberlyn congrats on -95#s! That is an awesome loss. I need to get my butt in gear and start exercising more. What is the protein you found? I am always looking for something good to have in that department. Thanks for your reply. Elisa
