Caloric Intake
I noticed yesterday I had well over 1000 calories. Now I don't feel like I binged but I had a healthy appetite...
B: protein shake
S: nada
L: 1/2 Lunchables
S: almonds
S: rest of lunchables but left 2 crackers
D: some tortolini at costco, love the free samples!
S: some peanut butter and jelly
1 isopure
1 whole graham cracker
This totals out to a little over 1100 calories.
This morning when I weighed I was down a pound. I don't know if there is a direct correlation to the intake of calories and the 1lb loss.
Where are your calories at, now that you are 5 months out. I didn't set out to eat that much but it happened. I'm wondering now if I need to increase my calorie intake from the 600 - 750 range that I have been at fora while to a higher intake?
What is your take on it?

I say, What does your surgeon or nutritionist say? Dae they know much better than we do.
On my last visit to the surgeon (April) I asked and wa told to still focus on protein and fluid intake, so I am. I see my calorie intake cause I use fitday. I average around 800 day. But I have days when I only get in 650 and days that are closer to 1000 too.
What I have found is if I really watch the fat content of what I eat and make sure that my protein intake is at least 70 grams a day I lose weight pretty consistantly. I also have to make sure that I watch my carbs and that the carbs I eat are good carbs, mostly fruit and veges - not bread or startches as it wreaks havoc with my blood sugar.
But that is me.
Years ago I did one of those protein fast programs ala Optifast. I lost alot of weight in a really short time (110 lbs in 6 months). The great part about this program what the support group. One thing I learned was that for women how many calories a day we need to maintain a desired weight. Here's the formula:
Weight * 11 = Calories to eat each day
Example:
I want to weigh 150lbs so: 150 * 11 = 1650
That meant to maintain a weight of 150 or to lose down to 150 you needed to eat 1650 calories per day. Now if you weigh 200 to maintaih that weight you would need 2200 calories per day to maintain. So if you only ate 1650 a day you had a deficet each day.
2200-1650=550
A deficet of 550 each day gave you a deficet of 3850 for the week
Now to lose one pound, you need to deficet 3500 calories. So using this formula, if you weigh 200lbs and eat 1650 a day you would lose a little over a pound a week.
If you excersise you would loose more cause you would burn more calories.
Does this make sense
Anyway, 1100 calories a day would maintain someone who weighed 100lbs.
And even though you're a skinny minny now I know you want to weigh more than 100
Hugs,
Ronna
