That's What I Get For Giving In......
To My Craving for Gyros
That's right, Gryos. Have you ever heard of anything so crazy
.
Now even before WLS it was not one of my favorite things. I liked it OK. And would eat it now and then. But I have had this ever knawing craving for Gyros for the past 3 weeks
So today on my way home from Physical Therepy I stopped by Zippy's and did the drive-thru thing and ordered myself a Gyros.
Now I threw out the Pita and only ate about 1/3 of the gyros. But boy did it make me sick
Not only did I get a bad case of the "foamies" I really, trully did
and
a second time as well.
I think my craving for Gyros is now officially over and I don't think I will want it for a very long time
It always amazes me that things smell so good and then when you eat them it just isn't as good as it smells. At least to me
Well girls and boys I hope your dinner was better than mine. I will have an Isopure shake later on once my stomach settlles
to makesure I in enough protein for the day.
Have a good evening everyone!
Regards and hugs,
Ronna

Oh wow, I've been thinking about Gryos lately, too. Instead I ordered Thai food last night, a rice noodle dish that worked well once before. Not this time. It seems that its a day to test our new limits. Thanks for helping me work past the gyros thing without getting ill. I loved mine smothered with extra tzaki sauce (cucumber) which should still be OK all in itself.
Hope you are feeling better!!!
Hugs,
Tiffany
Hey Godmother:
I don't know what Gyros are, cut certainly you are cured form cravings!!!
I know the feeling. I have tryed somethings that used to be very yumy!!! for me and then regret the indulgency!!!
I know what it is to have nauseas and foamies for hours and hours!!!!
I hope you will feel better later
Alex
Its a greek sandwich, grilled lamb cut from a skewer. Served on a pita bread with onion, tomato, cucumber sauce (tszitki - however the heck you spell it). Its yummy. Or was yummy, anyway.
We all probably thought of it because its soft meat, a nice bit of spice, juicy - or greasy, should we say!
I am sorry to hear something gave you nausea and foamies for hours. I've had it for 20 minutes and would hate to think of anyone going thru it for so long.

Thanks Tiffany!!!
I will someday explain you what "tacos de cabeza are!!!!" (You don want to know believe me, they ares exquisite but nothing to explain to a foreigner!!!
just the translations could give you some idea: "head tacos".....)
I had the foamies for over 6 hours in my late 3rd month. I think my stoma was healing yet because I ate chicken soup or beef soup I don't remember now and vomited all day!!! I had my lunch at 3:00 and felt better untill 8:00 or 9:00 was awfall. Since then food is no longer important to me
Best Regards
Alex
