Happy Surgiversary 123'ers
Hi Chele and 123'ers
I sounds like many of us have hit our first wall- I'm down 96# since surgery, but then I was sooooo much heavier than you. The last 10 # took a month to lose. Slow - slow. Your photo looks awesome!!!! It's amazing tome how I look in the mirror and see the exact same face and body, yet everyone else sees the changes. It's all in our perspective of seeing us each day when others see us less and notice the changes.
I also wonder about the changes in me- and my attidute. Interesting to track. Impatience is my enemy--- I just rememeber this is my life now and I have lots of time. The good news, off my blood pressure meds and have BP this week of 120/64.
i'm still weak-- long term back issues caused that- but better attitude and self-confidence. The complexity of this journey leads me to take an issue at at time and deal with it, and the "slow" times of weight loss are just a part of it.
Kudos and love to all of you

Hi Carole,
Thank you for the compliment.
You're right, perspective is everything. I have been fighting my own demons lately, I think...mostly related to how I feel about myself and my body now 80lbs lighter.
After fighting my body for most of my adult life, I finally decided to accept myself the way I was...at 290lbs, because I had literally tried everything short of surgery to lose the weight. No cheating, and with everything I had in me. Well, now it seems I have to adjust to this new body...smaller breasts, hanging skin and thinning hair. It's an adjustment.
The goal for ME (not sure about others) is to be healthy...not fit into a size 6 (or whatever). My BP is down, cholesterol levels are great and my chances of getting diabetes has lessened. My joints feel better and I am more active and healthy than I have been in a long time. The way I look is just a bonus. I think it would benefit us if we try to remember that we didn't try to get approval from our insurance companies by typing them letters telling them we want to fit into some smaller jeans. Well, at least I didn't!
To me, it's about a lifetime of good habits that come along with the weight loss. Healthy foods, small portions, lots of water and exercise. You're right, there will be slow times....I think I panic when I see the scale stop moving for a month (or nearly) because I revert back to my past dieting experiences where I tried hard to lose but nothing happened (and in fact, I even gained weight).
