Alcoholic drinks?/6 month Dr.visit~~~~
Have any of you had an alcolholic drink since surgery and if so what is your surgeon's policy on it? What do you drink and how did you feel? Mine never said one way or another...But his wife who works with him mentioned 1 year no alcohol.
My daughter's graduation party is Saturday. I would like a drink (Not alot) but not sure whether I should.
I went and saw my surgeon today for my 6 month visit and I totally forgot to ask him. (maybe I will call tomorrow) That was probably because he couldn't stop complimenting me and it felt good. He was very pleased as I have lost 95 pounds since my first visit with him. Today he asked me what I still wanted to lose and I said about 60 more pounds and he said no way. Thats too much!
He said I should weigh about 150-155 pounds which is only 28-33 pounds away.....Why is it that when someone see's someone when they were fat that a normal wieght of 125 makes people think you will be too skinny? I am only 5'1" and 125 would be fine.
~~hugs and well wishes~~

Hi Chris~ I have had alcohol since surgery, been having a few bloody marys now and then, where there is about a 1/4 cup of vodka in it and the rest mix. According to my dietician she said be careful and remember it wont take as much to get drunk now, but she suggested to stay away from beer since its carbonated. Hope this helps and hope you have a great time at your daughters grad party!

Ive had wine many times and its as the others say....you get tipsy faster and it also goes away faster but should not be counted on if driving is involved. I try to always have some substantial protein in my system first.
Sometimes a sip tastes like fire water (and I stop, of course!) sometimes its just fine. I did not really drink hard alcohol pre-op and have not tried anything so far. I'd love a margarita but all the mixes/recipies I know are just loaded with sugar so I've abstained from that.
Enjoy the party!
And lets celebrate the day when we're officially 'too skinny!'
