new to message board
I am so happy to find you all. I was sent an e-mail telling me about the Januray 2006 board. I had my surgery 1-11-2006.
I feel I am loosing slowly. I have lost 70 lbs. So I am about 6 months 2 week out. I stopped loosing for a few weeks and it so hard. I will be turning 60 in Sept and I have wondered if that is part of the slow weight loss?
Please tell me what you are eating and give me some good tips.
I will am so happy to find this site.
Welcome to the board Joyce!! I hope you find it every bit as supportive as I do. I think we all have hit plateaus on this board. Last month I was on a 3 month stall and had to seriously go back over and take a hard look at what I was eating. Turns out I wasn't eating enough protein. I upped my protein significantly, and 8 more pounds fell off.
Remember, plateaus are not a bad thing (at least this is what I tell myself when I'm ready to throw the scale out the window). It's your body trying to find a "baseline" so that it can start losing again.

Joyce...Welcome to the board! Try not to worry about the "slow" weight loss! I had surgery Jan 30th and since surgery I have lost 69 pounds. I previously lost 30 for surgery so I am down a total of 99 pounds. I think my weight loss was slow but remember you didn't gain it all overnight. So eventually it will come off. I try and get in 60 grams of protein and stay away from carbs and sugars. I drink only coffe/ water and diet snapple! I never count my calories but rather try for the higher proteins.
Have you measured your weightloss inches? I have lost 68 total inches. I just turned 41 at the beginning of July.
~~hugs and well wishes~~
Chris
