Help with calories
Does anyone know how many calories we are suppose to eat at 6 months out? I have been told 60 to 70 grams of protein. I do use protein drinks as a snack not as a meal. I have to get my weight moving again. Are we suppost to be eating as much as 3 oz of meat at a meal. Because I can eat 2 1/2 to 3. Thanks for the help.
Joyce,
Here is the sample menu from the Nutritional guidelines handout (you should have received this from Jennifer)
Using all calorie options i.e. if it says milk or water, I chose milk and put it into fitday. Calories come out just above 1000. See below for menu and nutritional info.
7:30 AM 8:00 AM 4 - 6 ounces of food 3 -4 oz oatmeal
skim milk
protein powder
1 ounce sliced strawberries
8:30 AM 9:30 AM 1 cup fluid water of sugar free

1:30 PM 2:30 PM Protein Drink

In my opinion, the carbs our program allows are a bit high. Some surgeons only allow 30 carbs per day for the first 6 months.

Hello again Joyce
My surgeon still has me focusing on just protein and fluids. But I do log what I eat into www.fitday.com so I can track the protein. So according to fitday I eat on average 700-800 calories per day.
Regards and hugs,
Ronna
