What do you do???
Dawn,
Thanks for the info. I worked in an office like that before too. It was hard! I will keep what you have said in mind. I was so excited that the program was free that things like miserable people didn't really cross my mind.. LOL For the whole class I will be working with Marines and Navy. They can be big *****'s too! (trust me I'm married to one when it comes to dental and medical) The thought of gross teeth doesnt sounds good to me either. The fact that I can take this training with me where ever the Marines sends us is nice.
Kinda stuck on what to do...

I was a certified nurses assistant for 6 1/2 years and now I am a certified phlebotomist at our local hospital. I love my work even though everyone calls me a vampiress!! The one good thing I can say is 99% of the people I draw blood from compliment me on not hurting them at all!! I plan on returning to school to further my education in the lab field as well. I would ultimately love to work for the medical examiners office but we will see if I can afford it. I am also looking into joining the Guard and going into more medical things and becoming a certified EMT. Good luck to you!!

Steph,
I think joining the Gaurd would be great! Might be kinda hard with the surgery but I have heard you can get in after alot of extra paper work. I was in the US Army way back when. It was great. If you do go in with a job in the medical field your contracts are long...... like 6 to 8 years for your first enlistment. Thats why I didnt do medical, I wanted to do Xray. I ended up being Military Police.. Good Luck! If you have any questions on being a female in the military just let me know. I also talk to alot of young female Marines to help them get threw.

I am an Illustrator by trade with a children's book published and 3 more written.....just havent had the time to draw the pictures for them yet. I used to be an advertising layout artist for SEARS CANADA, designing their ads in newspapers and magazines and then Id do the artwork for them. I left to have my boys and went freelance and still do some work now and again for papers and magazines....also commercial projects and I also designed and created the artwork for school mascots for local schools and did artwork for the schoolboards.

Hmmmm let me see, right now I am working six hrs a week as a home health aide for a very dear couple, the lady is 86 and her hubby is 82. I have not worked for the past two years because of my health and my daughter anxiety disorder. But, am ready to get back out there. Iam 49 yrs old and want to really get back to work. I was thinking of going to school for something, like maybe get State Tested to be a home health aide. I love to write, but don't know what I can do with that. I also love to work in the food business, I love to serve people so my options are all open. I have been on dissability for the past 15 yrs but I have worked part time a total of six yrs during that time. Generally, in an assisted living home and as a home health aide. I worked for 17 yrs in a pharmaceutical company. I know allot about sterile processing and the dispensing of medications liquiddly and then freeze dried. I don't want to say that Iam getting to old for anything because at this point in my life I feel as if it will all be turning around. The thing is, is just WHAT SHOULD I DO WITH MY LIFE NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL
Very good question! It has been fun reading about what everyone does. Nice change of pace.
God
Bless

I work for a manufacturing bakery... we make cookies... for Walmart, Nabisco, alot of little store brands.... but most importantly for Girl Scouts... we are one of two bakeries in the US that make them.
On any given day I can walk out and sample 3-4 different kinds... Though we make them all, they are made on certain days, and certain shifts... so we aren't making all 8 flavors at once.
We also make the Snackwell's devilsfood for Nabisco... the lowfat cookies, and we also make the Mint and Black Forest flavors.
I have to admit, I have eaten a couple of cookies, just to try them, as the lines start the production seasons, again. But I am strict to limit myself to one cookie a day, and most days, I don't eat any... so don't flame me!!!
I have been there for almost 15 years, the last 2 I've worked in the office, I do statistical analysis of the production process.... My title is Resource Auditor.... I am also coach, teacher, minimal IT tech, peon, the list goes on and on....
