I got a new job!!!!

Curently Im working as an assistant manager at Dots, a clothing store. I love my discount, 25% off!!! But thats where my love for the job ends. I've done retail off and on for years and I'm sick of it. I start on August 7th at an investment firm. I start as a phone rep. resteting pin numbers and answering questions about 401k's. I was so nurvouse about my credit check, I understand why They needed to check but I have medical bills and a few others that are unpaid but It must not have been too bad since I got hired!!! Its a doller less an hour than I currently make, (still more than 2.5 x min wage)But I have more opertunity for growth and will have my nights and weekends with my kids. I really believe that My family time is worth that extra 40$wk. last year I worked weekends and many nights so My kids couldnt be in sports or other activities so Im just bubly about this upcoming year!!!! I can be a soccer mom!!!! Elsa

That's great Elsa!!! I know what you mean about opportunity for advancement. That is one of the main reasons I chose to leave the medical field. The only way I could advance would be through further college education and with kids and a mortgage going back to school just wasn't an option. Sometimes you need to weigh out the differences and see that money isn't always everything. Children value our time more than possessions to play with when we are not around. I really think 20 years from now when they reminisce back to their childhood they will remember playing soccer or baseball with their mom cheering on the sideline more than playing PSP while the babysitter sat with them.
