6-Month Follow-Up
I had my six-month follow up visit yesterday with my surgeon and everything looks good. I have lost 85 pounds since surgery and 154 total. My B12 levels came back up, but they are still not great, just not dangerously low anymore. So we're going to do daily sublinguals (which I've been doing) and stop the injections right now and see if my body can hold the balance.
He said my skin is looking good, however, when he took a look at my stomach, he gently lifted up the side of my lower stomach roll and said, "This -- this isn't going anywhere." LOL -- Uh, I knew that. So we talked a little about plastics and how he'd like to see me wait until a year out before pursuing, which is what I had planned on anyway -- plastics sometime next spring/summer.
Anywho -- that's my visit in a nutshell!
I'd be willing to corrupt others with candy, if that's what it took. How's THAT for desparation? LOL.
Seriously, I already know that the insurance company will cover my lower body lift -- I've already met their requirements, which is a loss of greater than 10 BMI points and a hang below the pubic bone, BOTH of which I've already done. AND they will most likely cover my breast lift/augmentation also, according to them, we have to show a massive loss of tissue. Thanks to my wonderful hubs, who takes my pictures (both clothed and unclothed) every month, we've got picture proof. Plus I've got my regular doc and my chiropractor who are willing to vouch for the extra skin causing problems in day-to-day life.
I pretty well knew going into this surgery that I would need at least a tummy tuck, so I asked the insurance company right up front about what documentation was needed.
