How much do you still have to lose?
Well I have lost 112.6 from my highest and 93.4 since wls so I am at 245 were I have been sitting for the last 1.5 weeks. So to the Dr.'s goal I have 26lbs to go and 55-65 till my goal of 190-180.Looking at those numbers it does not look so bad but I feel like it is so far off even thou I have lost so much in only 7 months.Sometimes I feel like I will never make it.But I try to remember were I came from and where I want to go.

Hi Bridget! I have set my own personal goal of 135, when I asked my nutritionist if that was unrealistic, she said "well...no." but her hesitation made me think otherwise. I am right now at 188, so I would have another 53 pounds to go. I will be very happy if I get to 150 though. I am going to ask my surgeon on Tuesday when I go for my check up what he thinks my goal should be.

Good Question Bridget! I was thinking of posting the same one. I was 260 at my highest and 242 on my surgery date and have lost 87 lbs and have 13 to go. I want to lose a full 100lbs. If I dont lose another pound tho I will be happy since I did this for medical reasons (weight loss is a bonus) I no longer have to take 9 meds a day and I am off 300 units of insulin a day. To me there is the success in my story!
Angela~my dear please know that you are doing well. I will be the first to admit I have made my fair share of mistakes on this journey. One thing that has helped me is to make sure I am working out and eating right. Granted I dont deny myself if I see something I want. I feel its still a struggle everyday to make sure I am eating right. I know its not easy! Just hang in there and we are all here for you! Keep up the great work! Take care!

Morning Bridget, sorry I'm a bit late... but still wanted to post
I started at 393 then lost 11 pounds for my surgery 382..... I am 223 today, but at weigh in last week was at 221 and then AF came, so I'm using 221 lol.
I've lost 172 pounds and have 46 to go until I'm 175... I am scared, to be honest. I don't have ANY clue what I'll look like and it scared the bejeebers outta me!
You've done great girlie! Keep it up!

Hey Bridget:
Interesting post!
You know what sucks, though? My surgeon will not give me a goal. My PCP won't either. So...
My personal goal right now is 167. I am 5'10" with wicked broad shoulders so I would say I am pretty big boned, but who knows!
If (damn...I need to start saying WHEN) I get to 167, I may re-assess my goal. To put me smack dab in the middle of the BMI normal range (which is BMI 21.7), my weight will have to be 151.
So...if I go with 167, I have 36 lbs to lose.
If I go with 151, I have 52 lbs to lose.
Either way, it is MUCH better than the 100+ lbs I had to lose when I started all this!
Have a great day!

I know how you can tell if you are big boned. Take you thumb and your index finger and wrap them around your wrist. If you can make them touch you are big boned, if they just touch you are average, if they surpass one another you are small framed.
Hope that helps!
Dawn
**BTW...I am 5'10" too and my personal goal is 169, docs goal 180
