I don't know if anybody else here has allergies but lately when I take a Benadryl (just one) it completely knocks me out. I never used to have that problem. They always worked but I would have to take two at a time for it to work when I was heavier. I guess now that I'm smaller they work better cause a few weeks ago when I took two I was asleep in about 20 minutes and knocked out for hours. I took one last night just to see if it would still help and sure enough I knocked out again. Just wondering if anybody else noticed if medications have a stronger effect? Dana

I have noticed the same thing. In fact I have had to stop taking anything that makes me sleepy in the morning as I can fall asleep driving. I suspected like you that since there was 'less' of me - that they work 'better' and 'quicker'. Rose from PA

That is what I'm worried about, taking something that will have and adverse affect on me and causing unsafe conditions. We just have to remember to be safe! Dana

Tow nights ago, I was lying in bed, unable to sleep because Id been bitten by mosquitoes amd they itched SO bad and I was trying to avoid scratching them. So I padded barefoot across the hall to the bathroom and took two Benedryl..I was so desperate to make it stop itching! They were everywhere! darned pervert mosquitoes! I drank a glass of water with it and fiddle-farted around about ten minutes, tidying up since I wasnt sleepy and then I wrote JB a note saying to make sure I was up at a certain time because I had an appointment and that Id taken two pills..........well suddenly, I felt SO sleepy..I remember thinking ..this cant be happening so fast! and by the time I got to the bed, I was so sleepy..and dont even remeber getting under the covers! OMG! I slept THIRTEEN HOURS!! JB said he kept checking me to see if I was still alive! I guess I'll take ONE Benedryl from now on! THat was a shocker! Nancy B

I remember a comic that had a stand up routine about taking Nyquil when you are already laying down in bed cause it worked that quick, if you take it in the bathroom in the evening that is where you would wake up in the morning. Well atleast you made it back to your bed. I'm glad I'm not the only one! Dana

Dana, How funny! Last night I took a benadryl as my allergies have been acting up. I usually take one at bedtime and that helps me for 24 hours. Well, I took the pill and then a message about a fire in a nearby town flashed over the bottom of the TV screen. It would be a hour before the news came on. Needless to say, It took ALL I HAD to stay awake! As soon as the story was over, I was over! Teresa

I would of been asleep way before that news story came on, heck the other night I almost crashed in my chair cause I had taken one benadryl and came to my computer to look up something real fast, about 10 minutes later I was dozing off in the chair and it took Jesse coming in to tell me to come to bed. I have one word for you : TIVO!!! Dana
