Hi everyone,
We have not talked about these in awhile, shortly after surgery we were all ready to return these contraptions. Are you still using it? How was it determined that you should stop?
My surgeon told me to stop which was around the time the respratory company said I'd need it. Now they want me to do another 3 weeks on it and they will decide - otherwise I have to sign a form saying if I ever have problems its my fault. Hmmm. I'm never at home for 3 weeks straight and its certainly not coming on an airplane with me. I hated going to bed with that darn mask, looking like Hannibal Lecter.
What's your experiences with this?

I went back to my pulmonologist in June & I still needed it. I think I had lost 50 lbs at that point. I tried not using it, but I had problems. Since that time, I've lost 25 lbs and I'm starting to sleep without it. Some nights I use it, but only to drown out hubby's snoring. I should go back and do the oxomoter (I'm sure that's not the right word, but I can't remember what it's called) testing.
I've been using it for a little over a year and I"m anxious to get rid of it.

I used mine for the first few weeks after surgery, then i stopped using it on my own. I knew when I needed it because i couldn't get through a whole night without waking up 5-7 times. I sleep through the night all night every night now, don't even get up to pee! So i am pretty sure I don't need it anymore. I agree...I HATED looking like Hannibal.
