I have found the evil substance my new body cannot stand- and I found by accident! I sadly found out Sugar doesn't make me dumps, carbs don't effect me, and I haven't pushed any envelope with fats/grease...don't plan to. At my support group last two nights ago we were talking about me not be able to handle salty peanuts, lunch meat, processed singled cheese, jerky, etc.... They said maybe its the Sodium content! Never thought about it! Wow! I started house sitting for my Aunt that night and I thought she had something to eat for me.... but alas there wasn't anything except some toasted corn dorito chips lol. So I absentmindedly ate and ate while watching TV and playing online.... Yesterday morning I woke up to a tongue at least TWICE the size of a normal one! ICK! Poor thing. So I've been chugging water and snapple and my tongue feels better and I no longer feel all weird throughout my body... It was kinda stiff feeling. So my bod hates high sodium content and no more chippies for me I'm glad I found out about my dumping/issue before I went somewhere on vacay or something lol. Anyone else find weird stuff your bod doesn't care for?????? *~*Jaci*~*

My body can't stand salt, either. I have gotten sick a few times and finally figured out if something is salty, I better not eat it. I loved salt before surgery, now rarely add any. The combination of peanut butter and protein powder also nauseates me, as well as raisins. We never know what might happen when we eat something anymore, do we? Karla 337/223/150

There are only two things that I have discovered so far that my body no longer cares for post-WLS: peanut butter and milk. They both bring me to my knees in pain. Kind of a bummer, I enjoyed them both pre-op...but I can (and certainly will!) live without them! Jersey

Sorry to hear about your bodies rejections to those foods. I can not imagine having such ill effects to eating. I just don't know if I have that kinda discipline. I would think "swollen tounge might be worth a few chips"... and then eat them anyway. I am bad But, I am glad you did discover this. I am always nervous to try new foods in public places. Thankfully, I can eat whatever I want (I had VG so no dumping syndrome because the pylorus is preserved). Though, I still find it hard to eat any sort of dry dense protein (dry poultry, dry eggs, ect). Oh, and super greesy things are bad for the belly Take care, and hopefully water loading today will clear your system and you will back to yourself in no time
