Back to the Psychologist
Hi Everyone,
I have been quiet on the board lately just reading everyone else's posts. I'm having a hard time eating lately as I feel like I'm going to gain weight. I'm 7 pounds from my doctors goal and 17 from mine.
I've been anti-depressants for about 10 years now and feel like it is time to re-evalute them as they aren't working that well now. I don't have an appointment yet, still working on getting one. Just wanted to let everyone know I'm still here and love chatting with you all.
Carly

Carly,
I've had the same problem. I've been on Paxil for 10 years and never had a problem. The last month or so I've been really depressed & have had a few panic attacks. I'm still seeing a therapist & things are getting better. My pcp wants to lower my dosage, but I'm not sure I'm ready for that. Each time I lower it, I get the jitters and feel like crap. I'm trying to focus my attention elsewhere. The emotional aspect of weight loss is much harder to cope with than the physical. Good luck in your endevor. Let us know how you're doing.
Kathy
Hey Carly,
I agree with the others, having a good therapist is important and having a bad one can be not so good. Mine specializes in WLS, eating disorders and probably other stuff that I am not aware of.
If anyone wants to contact him to see if he can recommend someone with similair background and training, his name is Dr Steven Tovian and he's based in Highland Park, IL. I can send you his number and email. He's been fantastic for me.
Good luck with your work in this area. I share your worries of gaining back the weight.
Tiffany
