Carmen, I had surgery Jan 4th and my weight loss bounces from 86-92 pounds. I just can't seem to get it together either. I work out or walk everyday but my eating is often bad. I feel like if I could eat better I would have lost more by now. Keep it up, this too shall pass!!!! Wendy

Many of us are dealing with what I call "Mind over Munchies" right now, including me. So please hang out with us as we get through this together. And I think you're right, you are the youngest on the board but I may be the oldest Sending lots of hugs, Ronna

Hi Carmen, welcome. I am 30 (13 years your senior) but still feel young. I have been dealing with weight issues since I turned 13 and have suffered greatly. I was 433 lbs. when I had my surgery and I still remember the pain of being a fat teenager, no prom, no dates, no fun. You will do great. Keep focused and think about that goal of looking good on prom. What helps me is steps and telling myself, I have these people to see on this date for this occassion and I want to look good and it keeps the bad stuff out of my mouth. I have a co-worker who is overweight also and she introduced me to lean cuisine pizzas (I call it sabotage), they are so good but have sooo many carbs. In June and July I ate about 2 a day! Horrible but let me tell you when I had a slap of reality and the scale was not moving that was enough for me to stop. I really watched what I ate and exercised and in 2 weeks lost 10 lbs. So I guess my ramblings are that you are the only one who can make those choices and use the tool we have been given to lose the weight, kick ass and look and feel great. Good luck and e-mail me anytime. Keep focused on the big picture and take small steps You will do great you are a beautiful girl and I can't wait to see how you continue to look even more beautiful as you lose the weight. Good Luck!

well thankyou all for reposting... :D Umm .. to answer the question of my beginning weight.. it was 380.. Today i've noticed that I'm used to being "full" because of the surgery and i seem to always want to feel like I'm full. I dont know .. another thing that I've noticed is that when I'm bored or don't have annything to do.. I want to eat.. the same thing I had to deal with before I had my surgery. I know I have to exercise. I leave to college in about a week.. I'm excited about that because I know I can use my schools gym whenever I want. I get scared that time is running out for me and I won't be able to get to my goal weight.. but blahhh.. thankyou all for the support.. I needed it.

Hello Carmen! WOW you are very pretty, now AND before your surgery. I am glad you were able to get the surgery so early in your life. Your future will be what you make of it and I think you will make it wonderful. Follow the drs orders.... water, protien, water, protien and get moving girl. I am down 108 but I only eat protien and drink water. Look forward to hearing more from you in the future.... I would love to be 17 again. Well, not really. Just know your life will be wonderful and it will! Teresa
