Secret Pals

Have you heard form you pal this month? What about last? Seems like things are dropping off with the SP program. I know first hand the frustration that is felt when you are keeping your end. I have - or should I say had a SP from the main board. I sent my SP gifts for the year (this was when Gracie was so sick and I did not know what life was going to entail with the feeding tube and all of that****pt my bargain sent it all way early. I did not receive anything for 4 months or something like that so I thought I would inquire. Turns out she quit the program. So anyway, I hope my gifts are a blessing to the person I have. My secret pal from this board rocks!!!!!!!! God Bless, Jen

Hi Jen I've been prettylucky. My Secret Pal has always come through and I've loved the presents She's send. But this month she is MIA? I am a bit concerned that something is not going well for her. I hope I hear from her soon. Regards and hugs, Ronna

Hi Jen : ) I just wanted to comment on the secret pal program and maybe make a suggestion as well. I loved this idea the minute I read the posting on the board, I think its a great way to get an extra boost every month knowing that someone out there cares, can relate and is supportive. Personally for me when I signed up it wasnt so much to receive as it was to send something to someone else and help brighten their day. I wont lie and say its not disappointing to not receive something in a timely manner ever month being in the program but I am not going to lose sleep over it either-people have great intentions however sometimes life gets in the way unexpectedly whether they become busy at work, the kids get sick, dont have time to get to the post office etc etc-having said that maybe a good suggestion for all the secret pals would be if you know that something is going on in your life to prevent you from sending something on time or at all for that month just send a postcard or a little note to your secret pal to let them know that way no one has to get worried, angry, upset, discouraged, disppointed or any other emotion they may feel when they dont receive their monthly gift-Im not perfect and as much as I try to get my secret pals package to them by the first week but it doesnt always work out that way, sometimes its by the second,third and one time the end of the month- so I too am going to send that note to let the person know it IS on the way : ) I hope no one take offense to what Ive written because that wasnt my intent at all : ) Lori

My secret pal has been great about sending gifts, and sends great ones! I have sent my secret pal something every month so far, but haven't heard anything on the board about them getting Septembers, and it got mailed by Labor Day. I really wonder if they got it or not. I know it is disappointing when one end or the other doesn't respond, because it leaves you hanging! It is a really fun idea, and I love sending things to others, hoping to brighten their day. People just need to follow through for everyone if they commit to it. Karla

I need a secret pal!!!

My secret pal is awesome. She seems to take a lot of time to find just the perfect gift for me. I think she takes the secret pal questionnaire with her shopping while she finds just the right thing for me. She even sent me a copy of the last questionnaire in the mail, because I hadn't had a chance to answer it on the board. I wish I was more like her!! I am a single parent (my son graduated from high school this year) with a stressful, demanding job. I'm one of those people who have the best intentions and wind up falling short. It's funny though....when I first signed up with the program, everytime I went to a store, I bought something for my secret pal. I have a couple of bags of cool stuff for her, I just have to decide on which gift and get it in the mail!!! I just hope that my secret pal knows that I do think of her often and send prayers up often for her and her success!!! Hugs, Dianne

Um... Heard from them last month.. this month, not yet. No worries..... I've slacked on my side too. I love the program, even though its been pretty rocky

I have never, NEVER, received a secret pal gift. I have been vigilent to keep up my end of the bargain, though I will admit I was late this month. I am getting discouraged. RobinNJ

HI Jen! Please please please do not take this personally, you were wonderful to have gotten this all together, and I am truly grateful. I have gotten something from my secret pal every month but August and the things have been great. I also have sent something out every month to my pal, even if they are not always there by the first. However, I suggested when this was first mentioned that we do it for 3 months or even 6 months, and i think it would have been much more successful if it was kept shorter. Things seemed to go smoothly for the first few months, and lately it seems everyone is being forgotten about. It can be difficult to remember with our new, often more hectic lifestyles. That being said, I personally have had no problems on either end, but I seem to be in the minority. I am sorry to those that have been neglected, it truly is unfair. Karyn
