Hey everybody, This show was great It was actually designed to give primary care physicians continuing education credits if they followed up with a test online. Anyway, like most of us Januarians, I have been nervous and anxious and almost didn'****ch it cause it was supposed to be about the effects of WLS. I thought that might mean long term effects or negative effects, but thought I needed all info even if it was bad. It mentioned studies supporting WLS and lots of very positive information. They discussed a recent JAMA study about high mortality rates and explained how limited that study was and not really applicable to most patients. It really put me at ease and reinforced my decision. I am excited again! Debbie

Wished I would have watched it now. I just couldnt make myself do it. I was afraid of the negative comments that might be made, so I skipped it. I have been getting anxious lately about the surgery and the fact that Im scared I will fail. I hope it comes on again! Kristi

I looked on their website and this will be repeated each Sunday in January at 9a.m. EST. I missed it today too.

Awesome! Thanks for the information. I saw the show, but later mentioned it to my wife and she wanted to see it also. So, I checked our cable listings and couldn't find the next showing time (or if there was any). I was just about to check the Discovery website. I was impressed with the amount of information; much of which is included with OH, but lots of good supporting info.

Hi Debbie Hey girl it is only days for us!!! Yipee!! Wish I could have watched the show. No discovery channel hereboo hoo to me! Are you excited? Nervous? 10 days!!! WOO HOOO!!!! Great news BTW...I always suspected the studies were a bit jaded as the study was done on medicare patients who are usually older and sicker then the most of us. Studies done in Europe show a lower mortality rate as well. Though they have a mixed study of the band and RNY. In Europe they actually prefer the band. Of course they have more experience with it too. Anyway, 10 DAYS WOOHOO!! You Surgery sister Debbie Holding steady at T-minus 10 days with a date on January 12th, 2006

Hi to you, Debbie! We are indeed surgery sisters! I am nervous, but just a little. mostly anxious and eager to get it done and be back home. Also, the 12th is my mother's birthday, so surely nothing bad can happen to me on my mother's birthday! I proclaim that all Debbie's will be happy, safe and successful on my mother's birthday! I got my hospital robe today and some sublingual b-12. I'll do my grocery and vitamin shopping this weekend. Its so soon!!!! Can't wait!!! Debbie
