Hi Dave! Another step closer!! Just a few more days to go! The best wishes on yoru surgery and on a speedy recovery. Everyone is having pre op days...wonder why I don't have one? Anyone else not have to go to hospital for pre-op testing? Debbie

Either you will have it in a couple days or they do thing a little different here in the states. I never heard of a Dr Not ordering pre op tests. Hope your surgery goes well you will be in my prayers. Dave

Good luck to all....and to answer Deb's question, I dont have a pre-op day either. I've done a million tests all of which were completed before Christmas (11 Jan is surgery date). I think they were the same thing, I just had a list of what needed to be done more than 3 weeks out and then what had to be done within 30 days. Within 30 days - the PFT and ABG, chest xray, tons of blood and urine samples (I had my first UTI, had no clue. and they swabbed the nose to test for a strep they want to keep out of the hospitals, I came back positive and had to put ointment into my nose for 7 days). Also cardiac clearance and pulmonary clearance. Met both docs and did the treadmill thingy. While I talk to the physicans asst almost daily its been awhile since I saw the surgeons so I made an appt to go in on Friday, more for my own sanity than anything else. i want to again see the people who are rearranging my organs and need their strength in person, quite honestly. And I dont have a pre-op diet other than liquids 2 days out and the bowel prep. Listening to all the requirements you're all going thru has put me on a better diet, just to help things along. I stopped my pig out a week ago and am being very healthy in my choices. Having the delusions that I will die along the way but know I'll be fine. this self pay angle is giving me more worries than I would otherwise but I'm prepared and have been given strong approvals all around. I'm sleeping a lot and having dreams of myself as a thin person. That tells me everything will be just wonderful going forward. Be well, ~Tiffany PS - hopefully my pic will soon be posted so you know who you're talking with!
