What protein does your dr suggest? My dr tells us to drink Whey Protein. The dietition told me it is the best protein because it digests the fastest and the best with the RNY surgery.

I have been told Whey protein ISOLATE not CONCENTRATE although some people I know of and others on the board have mentioned they were not able to tolerate Whey after surgery so they use Soy or Egg protein---Isolate is important according to my doctor, nutriotionalist and health food store because it is the easiest for our new stomach to absorb, the concentrate needs to be broken down and since we dont have the mornal amount of stomach acids and juices after surgery its hard to do--I hope that makes sense--be careful when looking for some because there are some brands that have both Concentrate and isolate--I like Isopure, Biochem & Unjury the best so far prior to surgery but others have warned me my tastes may change so not to stock up until after surgery--take care Lori

I like the Whey protein because you can add it (the unflavored) to your food (well, what we will call food...broth, s/f jello, cottage cheese, protein shakes...). So it is an addition to your regular protein shakes (SUPER SHAKE) lol. Dawn

Whey protein isolate, but many shakes I have tried have a combo of isolate and concentrate...and I think that's ok (at least with my surgeon, *****commended several of the brands to me). Chele
