JANUARY 24TH 2006... MY INTRO
Hi everyone:
I don't know if I introduced myself on this board or not, anyway if I did Iam doing it again if I didn't here I go. My surgery is on the 24th of January 2006 at 12:30 pm, that is less the three weeks away. On Tuesday the 10th it will be exactly 2 weeks away. The last time I counted down anything like this was when I was a little girl waiting for Christmas to come or when we went on our family vacations every summer. Iam nervous but yet again Iam calm. Like one of the posters Iam nervous about the catheter too. Iam not nervous about my mortality because I have a faith that God will guide the surgeons hands. I have all of my nutritionist's instructions down pat in my head and I have all the food supplies I will need for the first ten days of my full liquid diet. I think I am scared I will fail like I have failed all the other times in my life. Can anyone help me with this one. I just cannot fathom eating such minimal amounts of food when I am use to eating bigger servings.
Well I wish all of you January surgery dates the best of luck and my God Bless you during this new walk in your life.
Denise
Like my Dr said, this is a tool... We will have to work hard. But you made the decision to go through with this, that shows in your heart of hearts your ready for anything that may come your way. My date is also the 24th. I just got a call from registeration for my physical therapy eval and occupational therapy eval that I have on Monday. Then on Tuesday I have my PAT (pre admission testing) and then the 19th I see Dr. Reddy. I dont know about you, but I just want it over with as soon as possible. You wont fail. Your fears of failing shows that you have it in your mind and you are going to push harder and harder. Good luck, I will be thinkin of you lol, we will be in the hospital bed the same time thinking the same things lol...
Denise,
I am on the 24th also.
It will be fine.
Remember that failure is not an option anylonger. You can conquer the past and reach tomorrows goals.
Take it baby step by baby step, one foot in front of the other. Do not get bogged down in the big picture.
By the way, the catheter is nothing. I am a veteran of multiple surgeries due to Crohns disease. You will not feel it going in and while it is in you do not feel it. When walking just make sure the tube does not rub against your leg. Otherwise, no big deal.
Same thing with anesthesia. Once you get the IV put in, the rest is easy.
Good luck and I will see you on the other side!!!
