not fair! not fair! I start my full liquid diet tomorrow... two of my dearest friends (one of which had her surgery 8/04 and is down 115 pounds!!!) took me to lunch yesterday as a "send off". We had such a good time laughing and talking! Funny thing about it all... I look at some of the food now and say to myself "why even bother? its kinda pointless to eat you now... I have had enough in the last 31 years!" Anyone else starting to feel that way? Cherise

Wow! liquid already? Why so early? I was thinking about actually starting tomorrow morning, just to lose more before my surgery. The question is ....do I have the will power? Maybe you and I could be support for each other? I have msn messenger if you'd like to do that...you could messenger me and say "time for shakes!" Let me know, ok? Nicole

I don't have to do a liquid diet until the 21st (and that is full liquids). The 22nd will be clear liquids. Did your doctors give you a certain type of shake to drink? I am doing them on my own to prepare for surgery. Chele

My doctor and dietician are recommending Carnation instant breakfast..(the one with 0 sugar carbs ONLY!!) made with skim milk and then adding 1/3 cup of dry milk..I think it makes it like 20 g protein then. Nicole

Nicole, I would LOVE that! I emailed you directly.... I just finished my "last meal" of rotisserie chicken with garlic rosemary roasted potatoes.... mmmmmm and my last official soda! I went and picked up some of the "necessities" for the next few days... I am strangely excited... I will probably change my tune tomorrow... I will keep you posted. Cherise

I had to start my liquid diet today. It is Optifast. I have noticed on the boards that some people are eating tomato soup and cottage cheese days after surgery. My Surgeon states clear liquids for 10 days, then full liquids for 2 weeks, then pureed/blender diet for 4 weeks, then soft foods for 6 weeks, then a regular diet of high protein, low sugar for life. What does you Doc say for you to do? Rebecca

I feel like I am cheating ...I have not been told to do liqiud diet or any kind of diet prior to surgery. I am trying to do my small meals and spread them out, I really don't feel like eating much of the time. And sip, sip, sip is hard to do when I get busy, I am not much of a drinker anyway until I really need it. but I am tring to keep a bottle of water or crystal light in every room so I am reminded. I feel like I am doing things alone, no one is helping or reminding, me. Everyone has me on their schedule. No time for me. Counting the days... Deborah J
