For the girls - what they didn't tell me
So I woke up this morning with my period. Cramps, back ache, the works. Here's the thing, I had my period right BEFORE my surgery. So here it is a week and a half later and I got it again! What???
Talked to the nurse today for my check-in call and she says, oh yea, that can happen. You might also miss a few, or have really heavy ones. Because of the surgery and hormones and weight loss it happens some time.
Let me just tell you, I am appreciating my pain meds SOOO much more now!!
Just wanted to warn you all!
Hugs,
Beth

Pain meds for cramps??? Yeah, I like that idea.
I approached my surgeon about it last week because I am most likely going to have my period the day before surgery and he said it was good timeing because I might have gotten it right after anyway.
Thanks for the heads up though. I know I would not have thought about it unless I specifically had a reason to ask.

I'm so irregular because of my weight I am wondering with the pre-op diet if I lose any weight if that might trigger me to have my period. I'll be ticked cause I haven't had one in awhile and I'm hoping to wait after I lose some weight to were it will be normal again. I feel for you having it twice, especially when you are not feeling well after surgery. Take care of yourself and enjoy that pain medication.
