What are you eating or shall I say drinking? Is anyone else having problems getting in all of your 48 oz? I had soup for the first time last night for dinner and I had some sf pudding yesterday but I dont think I can tolerate milk anymore. Has anyone started on mushy foods yet? Larisa 255/236/130????

Hi Larisa Just started on the mushy stuff. Had sf pudding and did fine. Had cream of wheat for breafast this morning and that went down well too. Planning of cream of mushroom soup for dinner. I'm drinking alot of Isopure mixed with crystal lite. That way I get in my protein and liquid at the same time. I have a big glass and get through 3 a day for about 72oz. Regards and hugs, Ronna

Larisa, Here is what I had yesterday (3days out) 5 oz nectar (protein drink very light) 1oz Chicken Broth 4 oz sugar free Tang 6 oz water 1 oz of protein pudding (I put my prilosec in it because it doesn't desolve in water) 2 oz sugar free fudgesicle 3 oz golden mushroom soup strained 3 doses of my loritab 2 chewable vitamins 2 prilosec Total Ounces Fluid 23.5 Protein 20 grams I read that we should work our way up to 48 ounces by our second week. I have to take in 64 by my third week. I figured that in order to get 64 ounces in my 14 hour day, I need to drink 4.5 ounces of fluid. If you are drinking the premade Isopure or the Nectar, it is thin enough to count towards your fluid ounces. I'm not allowed to go to the next stage for another 2 1/2 weeks. ::hugs:: Cyndi

I havent had any problems with my liquids yet. I did start mushy foods yesterday whod have thought that the dizzy spells I was having meant I was hungry? I called the surgeons office and they told me thats what those spells meant... oops. Had chicken salad last night ate about 1/3 of the can and this morning had half of a scrambled egg and a tablespoon of beans and I was actually full couldnt finish my egg imagine that I used to eat 3-4 eggs at a time lol. I lived on SF pudding the first day or two (with unflavoured Unjury protein powder mixed in). I have had eggs with cheese, salmon with my special sauce(dijon and low-fat mayo mixed up). That goes down better than eggs. My nutritionist told me to eat til I am full, but I worry about over-doing it. Refried beans went down well too. That was my first food after pudding. Tuna with mayo was ok too. I am drinking ok, getting in my protein shake a day also. It's still trial and error at this point. I have to eat more I know. Oh yeah, I had a Sun Chip! I ate it til it was mush. One was very satisfying. Christina (The surgery I had differs from the RNY, my food requirements may be different from yours)

I love cottage cheese and chicken broth. I can't handle anything too sweet, so I'm finding it hard to get protein in because they are all too sweet. The Isopure already mixed drinks are preety good. You just have to keep sipping all day. carnation instant breakfast Lataid (vanilla) is pretty good. I had that it the hospital. Well good luck.
