I am home and well
I got home the other day. I have been walking, sipping, walking, sipping. I am having a problem with getting in some protein. I am not hungry nor am I full. I feel swollen. Is that possible?
I have a great doctor, and other than gas, I have been alright. I do miss sleeping on my side.
Thank you everyone for your prayers.
Karen
Welcome back Karen, I'm 4 days out myself. I understand the missing sleeping on your side. I slept laying down for the first time last night, I've been sleeping in a recliner. I've been slowly building up on my fluid intake and protein intake. Yesterday I was at 23 grams protein and 20 ounces of fluid. I drink the nectar first at each sitting... that gets a lot of the protein in and it isn't very thick to drink.
Gas sucks and I find unless I'm in birthing position... it just doesn't want to leave. I haven't been able to distinguish hunger from full or pain from gas. But I'm starting to get the hang of it. With VSG we are given a little larger pouch, so don't try to keep up with me
By week two we are suppose to be able to pull in 48 ounces of fluid, at least that's what I read today.
Keep up the good work. I do a stretch for my back that is just awesome in helping me walk right afterwards. I put a pile of blankets on the side of my bed. Then with my feet on the floor, I lean over and lay on the blankets, eventually I move my arms above my head touching the bed. I stretch out that muscle and then flex my feet on the floor. It doesn't hurt and it makes my back feel better.
Keep us in touch of how you are doing.
::hugs::
Cyndi
