I was just wondering if you brought underwear with. I have talked to a few people and some said yes and some said no. I will be having the open RNY this next week and was wondering if I should pack them? I guess if worse comes to worse, pack them and if I dont use them atleast I have them with. Thanks for your help....... -Sue 5 days and counting!!!!

Most of my friends said it is preference. If it makes you comfortable then bring them.

I always bring underwear with me to the hospital - sometimes I feel like wearing them, sometimes not. They're small, so I say take them along just in case. I had my period before and immediately after my surgery this week, and so I used their net panties so I wouldn't get mine messy. ~Jen

I didnt bring anything but the pair I put on that morning to go. I wore a hospital pair for a few days because I was on my period but after I stopped bleeding I wore nothing. I had mine lap and I wore drawstring jammies the entire time I was in there after the first day in the gown as I was so out of it and was bleeding everywhere (I bled internally so no your normally dont bleed) so I didnt want to ruin my clothes. I would think even with a open they are cutting high on your tummy so a pair of jammies would be perfect.

I only had two pairs total the ones and a clean pair to wear home the rest of the time I was in the hospital gown only. Amanda~

Oh yes, I brought my big grannies with me. I even wore them to the OR. No one noticed. I ended up passing more then gas a few days after and threw away a pair, then you can get the hospital undies made of mesh stuff. Just ask for them. Good luck on your upcoming surgery, I'l bet you have lots of emotions right now as your date nears. Take care, Michelle

Pack them in case, but they were not comfortable because they bothered my wounds and rode up my back side, trying to get in and out of bed. ::hugs:: Cyndi
