Good morning everyone. Well today I get one last meal this morning and then after 12 noon nothing but clear liquids.....I stepped on the scale this morning and in the last month on my self induced preop diet I have lost 18lbs and of coarse I couldnt help but for a moment think maybe I dont need surgery but then reality set in within the next second and I reminded myself who am I kidding? I dont feel at all nervous right now and I hope I stay that way by tonight when I have to go to I am going to color my hair today, finish up a little last minute cleaning, take a relaxing and enjoy all my liquids today since tomorrow I wont be having anything I have enjoyed all of the support from the January board and I will update as soon as I am out of the hospital and able. I cant wait to go to tonight because tomorrow is my new birth and I cant wait to see the new me in several months! Take care and good luck to the rest of you that have surgery in the coming days Lori

Lori, good luck tomorrow!!!! You will be in all of our thoughts and prayers. Congratulations on a great pre-op weight loss! That's awesome. Your comment about dying your hair brought a smile to my face as I thought of doing the same thing. I'm also planning on getting a pedicure the day before surgery so I have pretty toes for everyone to look at!! Plus, I probably won't be able to bend to paint them for a little while! Give us a shout as soon as you feel up to it. Lisa

Lisa, Check with your Dr. about the nail polish!! Some hospitals will NOT let you have polish on the day of surgery or they will remove it. They need to see the color of your nail bed while you are out. It has something to do with oxgen levels and the neail beds changing color. You would be better if you saved the mani-pedi till after surgery and just wear a pair of socks. It is very, very cold in the OR. Just check with Dr.s office on the polish!! Patty

Patty, thanks for the tip. I knew about fingernail polish, but I hadn't heard anything about toenail polish. I will definitely ask my surgeon on Thursday when I have my last pre-op with him. Lisa

Yeah!!!!!! I'm sure you will be glad you went thru with it. Bariatric surgeons are getting really good with this surgery with relatively few complications. Take care of yourself and cant wait to hear the results. I'm 12 days behind you. I am soooooooo excited too. Cassandra
