What does the scar look like?? Not that I really care, but what does it look like and how bad is it?? Does it ever fade any?? I know bikinis are out--never really liked them anyway, but will we be able to show off these well-won bellies??? inquiring minds want to know! De

For a lap procedure its 6 punctures. I've seen them healed on people and they are less than a half inch and fade. The lowest one is on my belly button, the highest right on the bra line btwn the gals. I've also seen someone who then had a tummy tuck and its all moved down a good few inches and the scar from that was hip bone to hip bone at the bikini line and she did wear a bikini this past summer. Hope that helps.

De, I will be having the open RNY and they told me that the scar would be from my breast bone (i think that is right between my breasts) and it will go to just about to my navel. I think it measures about 6" and they said its red but with time it does fade. i am going to ask the surgeon before surgery if there is something I can use to help the redness fade... -Sue 3 days left!!!

Hi DeAnna! I was lucky to have seven incisions with my lap- Doc found I had a second Spleen floating around so he took it out for me. Don't ask how that got in there! As I'm healing, I can't even see one of the incisions anymore. I think at the end I'll only have two scars and they won't be anything huge. One is next to my belly button and the other is in the upper left area of the stomach. I think the scars vary by surgeon/technique. I scar easily, I'm very surprised I don't have more. *~*Jaci*~*
