One of my twins is sick ...which means, the other will be sick soon....which means my 6 year old will get sick...which means everyone will eventually be sick including me! Arrgh! We are scrupulous with washing hands and not sharing drinks/utensils, but I am nervous about getting sick. Do you think they'll still do surgery if I have a cold? Chele

My 6 year old is under the weather too, he was running a low grade fever in the am, with a sore throat. My advice...antibacterial spray, make sure you take your vitamins, and keep up the hand washing. I think if you get sick, they have to cancel on account of the anesthesia, not certain though. I have to say, I have been taking centrum chewables, and my boys have been sick off and on all year, this one anyway, I haven't gotten even an cough...crossing fingers, knocking on wood. The vitamins may have nothing to do with it, but then again, who knows. Good luck, no kissies for the mommy! Nicole

Chele, I am having surgery the same day and my kids were sick also...I started feeling like I was getting it too and started taking 2000 mg of vit C every 2-3 hours with a full glass of water and also taking my vitamins I will have to take after surgery and I have held it back so far. I did my pre-op today and they took blood which scares me cause I usually get a cold after they take blood from me...so more vit c. I will hold you up in my prayers. I think they will only cancel if you have a fever. Ronda

Chele...I'm wishing you good health! Yesterday I felt like I had a cold coming on and I sucked down a ton of Emergen-C and Airborne along with an ocean of water. I'm feeling better today but am going to continue with the Emergen-C and Airborne. I don't know if they will do the surgery with a cold so I'm trying to tell myself I'm not going to get sick and keep a positive attitude. Fight it girl! Jen

I developed a cough and a little chest congestion on Saturday and also a low grade fever. I went to my pcp today and got antibiotics (Z-pak) and some cough medicine. She said if it's viral the antibiotics won't help, but that it should be over by the weekend anyway. Either way, I think I'm covered. I have come so far that I don't want to have to postpone it now. Oh yeah, and I'm also not missing the vitamins either. Hugs, Dianne

I need rest so badly, I am stressing more each day of things I have not got done. The main thing I don't get done is sleep. I am run down. I have tried everything from to massages, to accupunture. Yep did the needle thing. but worth a try. I haven't even had time to go find a GNC that has protein shakes my friends are suggesting... gotta get on the ball I made a and I can't fail. Just so much going on WOW IT IS ALMOST HERE. AND WE'LL BE ON THE LOSING SIDE... YEAH DEBORAH

5 MORE DAYS!!! OMG!!! I can't believe it. I had my pre-op done today and I check into the hospital at 5:30 am on Monday and have surgery at 7:30. I will be thinking about all of you 23rds...we are going to be such great losers!!! congratulations everyone!!
