Just wondering when you plan to return to work???
Hey Carly,
I am also returning after 2 weeks. I will go back on the 6th of February. IF I can get a release earlier than I will probably go back then. I hate sitting at home and if I know me I will sleep the whole time. So I would rather be at work around people than by myself(and get paid for it)
How is everything going?? Have you weighed yet? What have you been doing for 2 weeks at home?? tons of questions....thats what you get for being post-op 1st

I'm back! I took a week and 3 days off (surgury was on a wednesday). Things have been pretty good, I am a little sore when I get home but nothing horrid. I work the 11-8 shift and get sleepy around 5, but that happened before the surgury too. It was kind of nice to get out of the house, daytime tv is terrible. Of course I get tons of questions around here but everyone is extremely supportive.
Good luck!
Beth
I had surgery on a Weds and plan to return to work on the 23rd so 10 days off total. This is my 'vacation' and its quite nice to be on pain meds and sleep a lot.
Although the meds are getting old and I've been cutting back. Agreed that daytime TV is horrible; sitting is my most uncomfortable position so I am no****ching much.
I know my first week back will be slow. My dog's vacation has been extended, too, as I dont think I'll have the energy for work, life and him (he's a 110lb black lab).

Greetings,
I just talked with my doctor about that today. Mostly he suggests 3 weeks off after RNY but I advised I was not getting paid and wantd to know if I could return early.
Becasue my fellow co-worker returned after 2 weeks and was REALLY tired 3/4 through the day I asked to return 1/2 days after 2 weeks and he thought that would be good.
With me working 10 hours I can not burn out after 5 hours becasue I have 1/2 day left. So I wish you all the best in your return to the work force.

Hi Everyone,
I'm doing & feeling great. Can't wait to go back to work & rejoin fellow co-workers.
I work at a telecommunications company and work in customer service. My hours are 1pm to 10pm & usually fly by.
As for my recovery, I'm good. I've lost 25 pounds & I'm eating pureed foods. Mostly cottage cheese, ricotta, cream soups, cream of wheat, etc etc...
Thanks for your input on this, it was helpful.
Take care everyone,
Carly

I am planning two weeks recovery time myself too. Surgery is on the 19th and back to work on the 31st, wow, that's not even 2 weeks. But of course, I have contingency incase I need longer. My surgeon said he's had patients go back to work as soon as a week after surgery. I imagine it depends on what type of surgery. Mind is laporscopic so short healing time. Good luck going back to work. How's things on the losing side??
Hi Carly....Congrats on the weight loss already! That is awesome! My surgery is tomorrow and I will be returning the 13th of February. Thats if I can get the all clear from the doc, since I have to have a docs note releasing me back to work before I can go back to work. Gee- compared to you all, I am taking alot longer than most. Well better safe than sorry?
