In the Hospital, day 3: The saga continues
I am doing SO much better today!! First let me say, I am posting the same notice too all the boards I keep up with, sorry about the duplicate postings but my fingers are really sore. They check my blood surgar ever 4 hours. It seems tat after years of being diagnosed with boarderline diabeties, it was full blown for the first 2 days and had to have insilun shots. I have been below 140, usually round 100 to 130, and it gets lower every day.
Blood pressure is still a little high, 134/95 last check, but they tell me it also will go down as I loose weight. Some of you asked about my Effexor and Buspar, for depression and anxiety, they gave thim to me in pill form, they are both very small pills, the Effexor is NOT the time released ones I usually take.
J tube coming out to day. NG tube came out on Tuesday, Meals are getting easier to get down, wlking the halls 4 or 5 times a day. NO MORE cath!!! Peeing goes smoothely. Now waiting for the gas I can feel and nurses and Dr. can hear with stethscope. But, most of the last times, I was held an extra day cause I couldn't go!! Once they even ended up giving me a enema. But I guess that is TMI!!! But once I can get the bowels to move, I can check out of the hospital.

Hi Patty: I had the same dilemma re Effexor. I was told the pills were discontinued and that you couldn't break up the time release capsule. I finally called the manufacturer and spoke to a pharmacist there: I can be broken and sprinkled, just not chewed. The time release is in the little granuals not the capsule. I called the two pharmecists to let them know. The only reason that I was originally calling Wyeth was to see if they might have some pills and this is the info I got. He was great. I am now going on to day 5 and didn't have anything for 3, then one on Friday but because of my nausea I didn't take one yesterday and will today again.
Regards, Pat
