My surgery was 1/10. I am wondering how long before the doctor had the rest of you newbies start Vit B12 injections, if you are taking it that way. I already have my vitamins and syringes, but would like to wait until the first of the month so I will always know when it is due. Just wondering if that is okay... I've called the doctor's office a couple times already this week. I don't want to drive them crazy. Sandy

I actually dont have to take any, and my doc suggested that I wait at least a year for testing to start them or even the sublingual type. Sorry I couldnt be more help, but I think that the first of the month is a good time to start so that you do remember when to take them. Good Luck, Steph

Hi Sandy, I don't have to take B12 injections. I do have to take a pill that has B12 & Iron in it twice a day. I've already begun taking them along with a multi-vitamin daily. The first of the month sounds good to me though. Take Care, Carly

I take B12 under my tongue a minimum of once a week but can take it every day if I choose. I was told to start this as soon as I got home from the hospital.

Hi Sandy My surgeon wants to wait about a month after surgery and depending on blood test results- MAY need to take additional iron and B 12. For the first month though- the multivitamin has at least 100% in iron and B12. I have the sublinguals from Trader Joes on standby. B12 is water soluable and lots of water is passing out of my body currently so its probably not a bad idea to take a bit more B12 later in the day (having taken multivitamin early in the morning).
