Pre-op appointment...check!

Well, I had my pre-op appointment this morning. All went well...mine was just a reiteration of everything and signing some paperwork. I will have an EKG and blood work Monday morning and then into surgery. I have been reading a book about mind-body healing called: "Prepare for Surgery, Heal Faster" that has got some pretty cool ideas in it. One of the ideas is to ask the surgeon or anesthesiologist to read positive statements pre, during and post surgery to encourage healing. My surgeon said that he would be more that happy to do that. I figure that I'll try almost anything to help me heal quickly and safely. I am so looking forward to this! My birthday is Monday also, so tonight is my celebration with my family...and my "last supper". Positive thoughts to all of you on the verge of surgery and healing thoughts to all of you big losers! Hey Jen, I had my pre-opp appointment today, too. I met with the anesthesiologist, did my final labwork and saw the psych for the last time. I'm one day behind you for surgery, though. What a wonderful birthday present you're giving yourself. Truly the gift of a new life! Can't wait to hear your posts from the losing side. Good luck and a speedy recovery. Lisa
