Home after 5 days in Hospital

I'm finally home after spending 5 days in the hospital. Surgery went well. I was in quite a bit of pain, though and then was VERY nauseated from the anesthesia and the pain medication. Eventually, they stopped the pain meds and had me exclusilvey on anti-nausea meds. I'll have to admit I was feeling a bit regretful the first and second day..... "What have I done???" But come the third day, I was feeling much more hopeful. The first sips of water were heavenly! Once the nausea went away, I was able to eat some vanilla pudding and some orange creme yogurt. Yummy! I have already lost 5 pounds! Had a great little gal across the hall from me named Erica. She is 20 and I am so glad for her that she doesn't have to wait 20 more years to do this. The doctor signed me out from work for the full six weeks, but I have yet to tell my boss. They might be a bit upset that my time off has gone from 3 weeks to six. But I need to take advantage of all the time that I can to heal. Just wanted to let all of you know that I'm back and doing well. Will post again soon. ~Teri~

welcome home i felt the same way as you at frist now i know this was for the best. it only gets better i am out of work for 8 weeks. dave
