How are you all getting in your protein?
Hi Charlie,
Well I am right there with you. Im still on liquids and cant seem to get in all my protein either. I cant even get in all my low cal liquids. Im still taking it really slow and doing small sips. I have this fear of putting to much in my pouch. I just hope it stays that way.
Good luck,
Kristi
Hi Charlie
,
I'm using Isopure in the premixed glass bottles. They have 40g in a 20 oz bottle and I go through one a day (I mix it with crystal lite). Don't think I would be getting enough protein in without it.
It's a bit pricey $3.50 a bottle but when on liquid your choices are so limited and I don't like the powdered stuff, it doesn't mix well.
Good luck and hugs
Ronna

I am 17 post op and my doc hasn't pressed on me to get a certain amount of protein in, just to try for high protein foods first. He has not had me use protein drinks at all. I tried eggs, my first bout with dumping, but I can eat cottage cheese, refried beans, cheeses, and tuna fish that I make into tuna patties. That is about all the foods I eat right now, all are high protein. I know I am not getting that much protein, as I am not getting that much food into me yet. But I am taking my vit. and such. Time will get me there. Doc is not worried about it at this point. Only that I learn what I can and can't eat and take my vit.
Well, I guess I am strange, I am getting in my protein drinks, because of my wieght I am drinking 4 drinks with 4oz of skim milk each drink is 25g of protein, my problem is water, I use to drink over 2L of water a day before sugery, but I feel so full all of the time now I am lucky to get in 1L, and I know that this could be a problem, I am 2 weeks out tomorrow, and tonight for supper I will try the baby food. Wish me luck.
Hugs,
Lynda
