Im going to ask my doc tomorrow but I was wondering-- How do you know if a feeling in your chest is your new pouch or something going on with your heart possibly? I didnt have any health concerns going into sugery and when I had my stress test the cardiologist said my heart is very healthy--having said that today I feel a little pressure more to the left side of my chest then in the middle--not real bad at all but I can feel it on occasion-Im not sure if its gas, if its the soreness radiating up from my left side , if its something with my heart etc etc--if anyone has any advice or thoughts please let me know--thanks Lori

I was having intense chest pains in the hospital. It's your pouch. Or at least in my case it was. Of course it will be good to ask your dr., but after a lot of worry my dr. said that that is where most patients describe the worst pain post-op. Amy

When you have lap surgery there's a lot of gas used to puff you up. That gas has to naturally dissapate and floats up - into your shoulder on the left side, that's the side they are doing all the work. Mine lasted on and off for a week, maybe that's it. Do talk to your surgeon, of course, but know there's fallout from other things that just takes some time to pass. Good luck! ~Tiffany

I am 5 days post op and I have that same feeling in my chest. I think that it is because I have swallowed a bigger sip than I needed. I also think that it is the gas that is floating upward. I am not hungry at all and I have to force myself to eat something. Hope you feel better soon.
