The funniest thing happened...
to me in the elevator at work today. I was with a coworker on our way to the cafeteria and she looks over and starts teasing me about my diet coke. She says, "I thought you weren't supposed to have carbonation" To which I clutched my precious diet coke to my chest and told her that I was allowed carbonation after 2 weeks and I was going into week 4. (I allow myself a little diet coke at lunch for flavor, water the rest of the day!)
As we are getting off the elevator another woman who was in it looks at me for a second, walks away, stops, looks at me again and asks if I have had gastric bypass surgery. (Mind you I have no idea who she was!) I told her I had and she gets a big old grin. Then she tells me that she had the surgery over 3 years ago, lost 300 pounds and has continued to keep the weight off. How awesome is that! She said the conversation clued her in because it sounded so familiar.
So here's more light at the end of the tunnel, a three year post op who looked FANTASTIC! and was keeping her weight off.
Thought I share!
Hugs,
Beth
