How are the rest of you?
I am having two 'bad' days in a row. (usually it seems to be one good day, then one bad day) I could sleep ALL DAY. I know the doctor told me that patients often get tired for some reason 3-4 weeks out. I worry how long this will last. I am going back to work on 2/7, and can't imagine trying to work feeling like this.
also, very CRAMPY pouch today. Ate one whole scrambled egg, but it doesn't seem to want to go down. Was only able to eat 2/3 to 3/4 of one before - guess I shouldn't have tried the whole thing today. Still didn't begin to cramp until taking my vitamins about 45 minutes later, and have been hurting since. Had to lie down! I worry what to do when I hurt this bad once I go back to work, can't lie down there.
Have to take my daughter to an appointment now, REALLY don't want to, but have rescheduled a few times already.

Sandy,
I am sorry to hear that things are up and down for you. It is really soon still. One thing I will tell you is that I returned to work this past Monday (we had surgery on the same day) and I went half days becasue I work 4 10's. I do get tired and wanted to make sure it was not too son. Well I am having a few regrets.
I was totally find, doing well no pain, until yesterday things started gettign funky again. I feel like I do not want to eat anything all of the sudden and have to force myself to eat. It really bites. I hope it too will pass.
I guess our systems are still getting used to everything and hopefully that will happen soon. What are you eating> That may be one of the reasons for your tiredness.

She has a tone of really helpful articles. There is one almost at the bottom called Why Do Gastric Bypass Patients Get Sleepy After Eating? You may find it helpful.
Best of luck, you are in my prayers.

Kristie,
Thank you for your response. I, too, will be going back to four ten-hour days when I go back to work. I don't know that I have an option of going for half days, but I do work with a great group of people and really good supervisors that I hope will be patient with my ups and downs.
I understand how you feel about not wanting to eat. The cramping I had earlier lasted about 5 hours and finally subsided. I had finally broken down and called the doctor's office because the last of the cramps were about to make me cry, they hurt so badly. The nurse said the doctor confirmed what I thought it might have been - the egg. They reminded me to chew, chew, chew, and chew some more, then when I think I have chewed enough, chew some more. I thought I had, but maybe not. I am glad it finally quit cramping, though. Now I REALLY don't want to eat another thing today. I will probably have a protein shake later and call it a day.
I guess I am ready to feel normal again. I have to keep reminding myself it is only 16 days since surgery. Feels longer, sort of.
As for what I am eating... so far only yogurt, soft scrambled eggs, little cheese, cream soup, protein shakes.... What are you eating these days?
Thank you for pointing me to the website. I will be checking that out. I guess I needed to vent a little, and see if anyone else has been feeling the same way I have.
Take care,
Sandy L
I started to get the crampy pouch the last two days... laying on my left side made me realize the problem... too much gas and not enough BM's. So I am drinking coffee today to help that out. It's getting better. I think my pouch could feel the fullness of the intestine pushing up against it when food when in.
Not sure if this is it for you...
::hugs::
Cyndi
