3 days post op...just got home
Hello to all. I had surgery Monday, am at home completing my recovery.
Surgery went well; so well that it was done in 30 minutes. No complications, very little pain, one little bout of nausea (did I spell that right?), things went better than I could've ever thought.
Walking is great, sipping water is great. Drains are disgusting, but just a few more days and those will be gone!
I'll email more later when I feel up to sitting at the computer for a while.
THanks for all of the emails, thoughts and prayers. They were needed and God listened!

Hi Kim!!! Welcome home!! Glad your surgery went well!!! Wow 30 minutes thats awesome! I was under for 3 1/2 hours and it was my first major surgery. What are all these drains everyone is talking about? I had a few drains in when I was in the hospital but they were removed before I left the hospital. I had the one to make me go pee and then the other one is a Hemovac drain that was under the incision to catch any drainage. I didnt have any tho. So glad all worked out for you and you are on the losing side with us!!!! God speed with your recovery!!!

Hey Kim!! Girl you did great!! I couldn't believe how fast mine was over also, my mom said they went to eat when they called and said they were starting, and by the time they got back Dr Freeman had already been in to talk to my brother, less than 25 minutes!!
You will fell MUCH MUCH better when the drains are taken out...Don't worry about getting them out, it didn't hurt, it felt like a suction, just take the whole dose of Lortab and you will be fine...the staples actually was worse than the drains, although not bad, it just felt like small ant bites!! Ok just keep doing great!!
