yeah I am on the losing side... finally hello everyone...well i am very surprized and pleased that my whole ordeal went well for the most part. ICU was great I felt well taken care of...the nurses kept asking if i passed gas...nope On day 2, I had to drink this crap so they could xray my pouch to ck for leaks. I had a morphin pump so pain was under control but I was short for the machine and they guys were dorks and made me move all over the place so they could get the machine set up. By the time I got back to the room I needed to push the button...whoa... the nausea hit me like a title wave, but I kept my cookies down...yeah.... later that afternoon I was moved upstairs..no gas yet. My experience there left alot to be desired. They left us alone to fend for ourselves and nic-picked over everything, one nurse almost poured a cup of hot broth on me while she was cleaning up a med spill, i told her what was about to happen and she said i know I got it and jerked the tray away from me. I was so pissed. Guess The nurses gossiped about me from then on cause no one talked to me and I was in no mood to deal with them. My arms was all bruised up from the blood pressure cup. So I was moody everytime they came around 2 hours sooner than they said they were. I walked good and peed good, and finally farted, and yes had this weird blackish stool...came home thursday, walked good, rested, doing well. Deborah

Yea! Glad you are home and doing good! I'm a 123'r also - what's up with that black stool stuff? Everyone is commenting on it and no one ever mentioned it before surgery! Get lots of rest and drink, drink, drink. Can't wait to get to mushies! All this clear liquid stuff is too sweet. Sylvia

Deborah, Sorry to hear about your experience with the nurses. My hospital was just ok...I had a couple of really good nurses and the others were just ok. Sometimes I would have to call them 2 and 3 times just to get pain meds or something I needed. Anyway, it's behind us now, right? Hugs from another 123er, Chele
