Yesterday I went walking in a few stores and felt better than i have in months. My joints already feel better.I was 356 when i weighed in for my first consultation.I was 348 on monday when I left for my surgey. This morning I was 336.I am going to try not to get on the scale everyday and drive myself crazy. Here's to all out there and please check in and let us know how you are doing today.Patsy
Good morning, Patsy! It's great to hear you doing so good and so optimistic. Wow! can't wait till I can have soft foods. I had Lap RNY on 1/23. At my initial consultation I was 272; day of surgery 268; This morning 259. That's 9 lbs since surgery 6 days ago! I weigh every a.m. so far. When I came home from the hospital I had put on over 25 lbs in fluids! I couldnt belive my eyes - but that all came off the first 3 days, and 9 more since then. I am really not happy about the liquids still. This is the hardest part for me. I just want to taste/eat something real and I know I have to wait for another week approx.

Morning!!
January 9th I had my VSG! I was 247, I am now 232!! I had a 5 day plateau in which I was not taking in enough calories, I'm losing about 1/2 a pound a day, which is fine by me!
I just got put on mushy foods, and now I could care less. I'm not interested in eating... go figure! But after I do my mile and 1/2 today, I'll be starving again.
I lost over 6 inches already!!!
::hugs::

Good morning Patsy,
I am working on the water issue as well. I never thought it would be a problem for me because I have ALWAYS loved to drink water. It literally hurts now, though, so I force myself. It is good when you start feeling better, just be careful not to overdo it!
I was 271 highest weight.
266 when I began my 2 week pre-surgery diet.
255 the morning of surgery (RNY)
233 today.
I may try to eat soft foods again today. I started pureed this past Tuesday and was really hurting for about two days, and terribly tired. So I put myself back on liquids for a couple of days and may try again today.
Congratulations!

Hi guys I had a Lap RNY on January 9th and I feel FANTASTIC!!!!
My original consultation weight was 230
My preop weight was 220
Today I weigh 201! I will be in the onederfuls by the end of the weekend.
I went back to work this week and haven't had problems with anything! I can get all my protein in and I'm doing well with my water. I even found a new vitamin that I actually don't detest.
I wish you all continued success!
Dana
Hey Patsy,
Glad to hear you are doing great.
First consultation I was 340
Day of surgery 308
This morning 292
I am also trying not to drive myself crazy on the scale but it is hard to do. I will only document the weight when I see my doctor and try not to document in between.
I feel much better today, took my shower, did my hair, put my jewelery on and all I am missing now is my make up.
I have been moving around more and I sleptt greatr last night on my side. I am still on clear liquids until the end of next week but thats ok because I can bearly get that in.

Hello!
My highest weight in June 2004 was 311. On the day of surgery (Jan 16) I weighed 279. Today I weigh 262 (have lost 17 pounds in 12 days!)
My biggest challenge besides drinking enough water has been getting in my daily protein. My surgeon wants me to get 40 grams per day (for now) and I absolutley HATE the protein powder ($50) mixed in CIB! I made the mistake of buying a big container of Vanilla flavoured powder, but I much more prefer the Isopure fruity drinks that have 40 grams of protein in a 20 ounce bottle. I just need to start drinking them earlier in the day so I get all 40 grams in by bed time.
A week from Monday I will get to start eating pureed meats (tuna, chicken, beef) and I know that I will be able to get more protein in that way.

Hi Team!
I had my lap RNY on 1-19- it went flawlessly. Got home 1-21 and have had only a few issues- just the "bathroom" occassionaly. I have progressed from clear liquids to full liquids and tomorrow pureed. Each day gets a little better. I have some some walking and find I sleep very well after that
Weight loss much slower than all of you.
385 highest
375 surgery
368 1-27.
Have to remind myself we are all differnet. I too have issues around the water and protein, and for the first timein my life forget to eat!
Today is a new day so will push forward with a positive attitude.
Kudos to all of you with so much success- I am proud of you and your committment.

Hi all you January people!!!
You are all doing such a great job!!!
My surgery was 1-10, so I am 18 days out. I have lost 19 pounds. Which is great considering I had about a week long stall, also.
I measured a few days ago and I have lost roughly 12+ inches, mostly from my chest and stomach. I can already see a difference in the mirror! Yeah!
I have been doing great with protein and water. I have managed to choke down some of the shake mixes. My favorites are still the Atkins ready-to-drink shakes.
I haven't had any trouble eating anything. I have eaten to fast, and probably a little too much, but I'm learning.
Congratulations to everyone!
Welcome to the rest of your lives!
Angela
