Hi to all other January loosers, Intial consult early November 2005: 341 Pre-Op weight 1/23/06: 304 Weight this morning 1/28/06: 294 I'm doing great, no pain meds for the last three days. I have no problem getting fluids in as I still haven't felt full or sick. I have to REALLY pay attention and force myself to drink slowly. The only thing keeping me on the liquids only is will power. That's pretty scary. Doc says pureed foods will start at next consult 2/8. Roger

*waves to everyone* Glad to hear everyone is doing well. I myself am feeling really good. I had pain meds before driving to town this morning and won't have any again till I go to bed. Only minor pain, and it is easy enough to ignore. 3 weeks ago I was at 299. Now I am at 276. I am pretty pleased with my progress since I am on what my doc calls "comfort foods". I think I will start losing more once I start pushing proteins and trying to eat "healthier". Good luck to you all. Keep up the good work!

Hi All I had LAP RNY on 1/17/06. My official pre-op weight was 286. When I left the hospital on 1/19 I weighed 296 (10 pounds from IV fluids...). This morning I weigh 261. It's challenging getting in 64 ounces of fluids a day lately. I am still getting in at least 55-65 grams of protein a day but recently had to switch to soy/lactose free products due to discomfort/dumping. I am on full liquids for about another week - my "food" options are quite limited. So far my meals have been Stallone pudding, soy protein powder in soy milk (its a little gritty but not too bad), and reduced fat cheddar cheese. My surgeon stated I could try cheese given my options on full liquids are so minimal- cheese could up my protein intake. I can't tolerate anything with neutraweet either- so many of the sugar free beverages out there are off limits for me. I get on the scale every day out of curiosity. It doesn't bother me --but then I have been consistently losing each time I am on the scale so its easy to accept what I see. Hugs, Karen

Hi Patsy, Isn't it amazing. I started at 339 and the day of my surgery i was 328, and now almost 3 weeks out I am 294. I am down 34 pounds since my surgery. I can't believe it. I also drive myself crazy, every morning on that scale, but it's a huge lifestlye change and I want to see my progress. I did have a 5 day period where the scale did not move. Just my body saing hey whats going on. It's great to see that everyone is doing so good. i wish everyone the best.

My surgery was on 1/16 and the first few days were rough with a lot of vomiting etc, but once that was under control I bounced back fairly quickly. I resumed my classes at a local college last Monday (one week post-op). I started out at 253 and this morning I weighed in at 225. A 28 pound weight loss in less than 2 weeks. I'm thrilled. Unfortunately it isn't coming off the belly, but the legs first. I can't wait to get rid of the big gut. lol. Sharon
