Scale has STOPPED.....
My scale has not moved in 1 week, what is up with that? I know I am a very impatient person, but I thought I wouldn't hit a plateau this early...Then I begin to 2nd quess myself, should I have really done this? My goodness the mind tricks this surgery plays on ya!! All my friends and family said it would happen! But on the other hand I have lost 20 lbs since surgery!!

My scale seems to stop all the time. My surgeon said I'm not suppose to lose a pound a day, just a certain amount a month, so until the scale hasn't move for a month, then I'll worry. Well, that isn't true. It bugs me all the time. It doesn't move for days, almost a week, and it kills me. I get depressed. Then it does move. I have to add all the pounds together to see that it has moved. I also try clothes on I know were tight and see they aren't anymore. Inches are coming off. The other boards say to "walk away from the scales" I know I should. Maybe I will have the courage to do it after the first month, when I know the weight loss is going to be even slower than the first month.
Yes, this is normal. Read back on the main board and you will see it at all stages of WLS. We all freak and it is only bad if it goes on for a great length of time and the doc says it isn't normal. Then there are things to get it started again.
From what we can tell this is fairly normal.
Look in the Jan. posts from earlier this week. I was going through the same thing. It is very frustrating and heart breaking, but it will pass. I broke through mine after about a week of stall, but making very sure that I got in enough protein, and enough water, and I took my vitamins. I am down about 4 pounds now from where I was stalled.
Keep trying to get in what you can. You have changed your body and it will take some getting used to. But your body will have to shrink eventually, you aren't eating even half of what you did pre-op.
Hang in there!

From all the other diets I have done in my past, the most important thing I have learned is to stay away from the scale!!!!!! It can be an encouraging tool but can also be just as discouraging at the same time--if you are eating as instructed, drinking all your water and taking your vitamins I wouldnt get upset--I had my surgery on 1/16 and I swore to myself I will not allow me to become a prisoner of the scale this time around--everyones body is different, I have several friends who had surgery within the last 4 years and all have lost at very different rates--stay positive, stay focused and as long as you know you are doing all thats required be proud and let your body take its time catching up to your efforts

I agree with the poster who said...throw away the scale. I no longer own one and refuse to buy one at this time. It's just not worth stressing over, IMHO.
Your body is readjusting in so many ways and that is normal! The only way you should weigh is if you tell yourself that you may not see fat loss reflected on the scale every time you step on it. What you are looking for is a TREND over time. Try weighing every two weeks or better yet...every month.
Or be like me and toss the thing!
