I want to chew something so bad, I watch my dog chew on a bone, and think I can do that and not swallow, I will just spit it out.

You are so funny! I had surgery same day, okay on the chewing so far (the vitamins and calcium are enough for that, and they really taste nasty) I just want some different tastes besides broth, protein drinks, crystal lite, etc. All of that stuff if fake sweet tasting, and I just really want to taste real food again *what about sugare free gum? is that okay? i haven't heard one way or the other, but just thought of it. No SF GUM!!! If you swallow by mistake it will get stuck and wont pass, this could mean surgery!!!!!! NO GUM!!!!

When I was on liquids my doc allowed SF popcicles, those really helped my chewing cravings.

I too would love to be chewing something (real)!!! I was banded on the 19th and am on full liquids, so I have had creamy soups, my protein drinks, s/f pudding. I have had some wonderful friends provide meals for my family while I was recouperating. I can't tell you how bad I wanted to EAT something... everything smelled good. Even in the market today (just picking up more soup); I wanted to get some salad at the salad bar, looked so yummy, and something smelled so good. I don't feel hungery, but want to eat something.

We talked about this on the Cali board the other day... Most of us chew and spit. I was making steak for the family and it looked so good. So to satisfy the craving I chewed a piece and then spit it out. It is kindof iky but it has gotten me thru a few cravings. Maybe this will help! Dana

I craved a lot more the first two weeks. I am not craving so much anymore. Hopefully, I am changing my tastes. It could also be the fact that the pain is awful with cheating Lisa
