Hey Dave, good luck with your follow up appointment. I am just 6 days out and have slept in my bed a couple of times. I am short so I put a kitchen stepstool next to the bed and I can use the step and the back of the stool for support. Helps alot Kim

Good Morning Dave! Good luck with the Dr visit! I was sleeping in my bed when I got home and the only reason is because the Physical Therapist made me get in and out of bed with the bed flat and no railings. Guess that helped me learn how to do it. I didnt have the staples tho so it made it easier! Hope all goes well with you and keep us posted! -Sue 242/???/130

I had lap so didn't have that much trouble with WLS getting out of bed and pain. But I did have open galbladder surgery years ago. I had/have a water bed. What I found worked that might help you is rolling over to your right and roll out of bed onto your knees and then use the bed to stand up, that might be a way to get yourself out of bed. I don't know if this will help, it did help me. I found as time went on I would roll to the right and eventually roll to a sitting position using my legs to pull as my arms pushed me up. Hope I explained this well enough.

mine still hurts where the drain was. Guess the stapler was there. Try to rolling out of bed to the feet thing, it really works and is the least painful, but it does get better.
